Step One to Losing Weight:Finding your Inspiration
So, you’re overweight…oh that dreaded word. You’ve realized the issue and the health risks that come along. Now it’s time to take action; but where do you start? You know that you need to lose weight, and you’re surrounded by weight loss products and diets, but where do you begin? How did you even get to be overweight? These are just some of the questions you contemplate as you probably grieve over your current situation. But, before you go crazy with diet pills, workout plans, and restrictive eating, just do one thing: ask yourself why you want to lose weight.
I believe that the first step to weight loss is to first find some inspiration to lose weight. Finding sources for motivation is the key to support as you progress to success. Don’t put yourself down over the matter that you’re overweight, don’t distress over the past that lead you to your situation. Rather, how about lightening up by setting a goal for yourself. You can’t change your past, so start focusing on the future. What is your goal? Who do you want to become? Grasp the idea of your future self and start working towards it right away. If you don’t find some sort of intrinsic inspiration to lose weight, or formulate goals to work towards, you’ll just end up feeling forced by extrinsic pressures provided with no support to help you succeed.

It’s all about you now. You’ve learned from the past, now start working towards your goals. Why do you want to lose weight? How do you see yourself looking and feeling in the next 6 months, 12 months, 2 years? You may have plenty of friends and family rooting behind you, but it’s absolutely essential to have the personal drive to attain your weight management goals.
The process may be overwhelming at times, but take it day by day. Your greatest source of motivation is your own conscious. Take full advantage of the intrinsic power you have to support yourself as you strive towards your goals. Remember, the first step to success is finding your inspiration.
